LaboÉval

The LaboÉval explores innovative evaluation practices to strengthen the impact of community organizations on society.

Are you passionate about strengthening the work of community organizations? Curious about innovative strategies to boost their impact on society? If so, you’ll want to discover the Evaluation Capacity Building Lab (LaboEval)!

Led by Professor Isabelle Bourgeois at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Education, LaboÉval provides free, tailored support to help community organizations build their evaluation capacity. Since 2019, thanks to funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, LaboEval has helped 16 francophone organizations access training and personalized guidance to strengthen their evaluation practices.

Our research team also conducts case studies with participating organizations, generating valuable scientific insights into the factors and strategies that foster strong evaluation practices in the community sector.

Our approach Our online training program and individual coaching will help you develop new evaluation skills and apply them in your organization.
LaboÉval’s theory of change LaboÉval's theory of change presents its activities and anticipated outcomes, as well as the assumptions that connect them. This theory of change illustrates LaboÉval's components and how they contribute to strengthening evaluation capacity in participating organizations.
Our training curriculum The LaboEval training program includes seven online learning modules offered via Google Classroom. Evaluation activities, templates and other learning components are included in each module. Personalized support is provided throughout the training.
