Program evaluation seeks to assess the merit and worth results of public and community sector organizations through the application of social research methods. Typically, evaluation supports organizational management by identifying areas of potential improvement as well as the results and impacts achieved by programs. However, despite efforts to support its use, evaluation remains underutilized. We seek to contribute to knowledge on evaluation use through the following projects:
- Application of evaluation recommendations: This project, led by Isabelle Bourgeois and Léandre Leblanc, seeks to determine how and to what extent stakeholders are involved in developing evaluation recommendations in the federal governement. Data collected through a survey of Heads of Evaluation will provide insight into stakeholder involvement as well as organizational evaluation capacity.
